The lines
Mod rhythm and blues at Decca
Four small Londoners in sharp clothes, formed in 1965. Jimmy Winston lasted the first year on organ before Ian McLagan replaced him. "Whatcha Gonna Do About It" and "All or Nothing" made them the mod band.

Immediate and Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake
On Andrew Loog Oldham's Immediate label the singles turned psychedelic ("Itchycoo Park", "Lazy Sunday") and the 1968 album came in a round tobacco tin. Steve Marriott walked off stage on New Year's Eve 1968 and formed Humble Pie; the other three became the Faces.
