The line diagram

Each member is a lane on the year axis, in the colour of the line the band was on. A filled station marks a joining, an open one a departure, a square a death. The dotted rail is a reunion. A dotted branch leads to a band that grew out of this one, or in from a band its members came from. The table below lists the same spells.

Two years on the Sunset Strip

Stephen Stills and Neil Young met again in a Los Angeles traffic jam in 1966 and formed a band within days. "For What It's Worth" came out of the Sunset Strip curfew riots that November. Bruce Palmer was deported twice, Young left and returned, and after a last show on 5 May 1968 the band was over. Stills, Young and Richie Furay reunited in 2010 to 2012.
